How to make an AI UGC video, step by step.
Seven steps from an idea to a creator-style video you can post — and the mistakes that make AI video look fake.
1. Decide the one moment the video must show
A good UGC clip shows one thing clearly: the product in a hand, the result on skin, the first bite, the reaction. Write it in one line before anything else — for example “she shows the serum and taps a drop on her cheek”. If you can’t say it in one line, it is two videos.
2. Prepare your product photo
- Photograph the real product front-on, with the label straight and readable.
- Use daylight and a plain background; avoid glare across the label.
- Save it once in Assets so every variation uses the same photo.
3. Write the brief like a message to a creator
Say who is in it, where they are, what they do with the product, and how the phone is held. Keep it to one or two actions.
She films herself in the car, holds the Daily Wellness Cream up to the camera, rubs a little into her hands and tucks it into the console before buckling up.
4. Let Hufan Director refine it
Every video goes through Hufan Director first, free: it adds camera direction, natural movement, lighting and realism to your brief, keeps what you wrote, and points out problems such as:
- Too many actions for the length
- Wrong framing for the format
- Unclear camera direction
- Identity consistency risks
- Product visibility issues
- Text on screen
- Famous real people
5. Pick the model and format

For TikTok, Reels and Shorts use 9:16. Not sure which model? Read choosing an AI video model.
6. Review before you publish
- Check hands, fingers and faces frame by frame.
- Make sure the label and any text on the product are correct.
- Remove claims you can’t back up, and never present an AI person as a real customer.
- Label the video as AI-generated where the platform requires it.
7. Make variations
Change one thing at a time — the opening second, the setting, the person, the length — and compare. Because each version is a brief, not a shoot, testing three hooks costs three generations, not three days.
